i think a 3 input ports board would be great addition for uccnc in future. - as it seems like there are none of these on the market.
i know when i ran out of inputs on my machine when wiring the mpg in i would have purchased one straight off.
for this refit- il order whats available now. :-)

CNC Room now offers a daughterboard for the UB-1 that uses ports 4 and 5, so you can use all 5 ports.

yes- have one here for a retrofit- see pic further up. (going in a big ortza machining centre- lots of io)
just placed an order for a uccb- lets see how good it is.
will only be an atc 3 axis mill so the 2 ports should suffice.
if not i can add a cheapo 5 axis board that i keep in stock

just had confirmation that the uccb doesnt include the ribbon cables- so these must be ordered seperately.

Ordered two boards to test. Two things for basic cnc machine and it would be perfect - Analog spindle control (0-10v) and Charge pump...

for my charge pump- i just use an output into a relay. it keeps it on while running and drops the relay on any fault (cuts 24v supply to everything so machine stops dead)

I'm not electronics guru, so my question might sound strange. But if I'm correct - the "simple" output is not the same as dedicated charge pump output ?

I use HDBB2 and the manual says:

The charge pump is a safety circuit which reading the signal on an LPT port
pin and if it receiving a pulse train with approximately 12.5kHz frequency
then it's output goes active (high) after around 100mseconds. If there is no
pulse train on the charge pump's input circuit for more than around
50mseconds then the output goes inactive (low).

The charge pump circuit is a monostabile multivibrator circuit on the board.
What the circuit makes is when there is a pulse train then the circuit resets itself and it's output is active and when the pulse train is missing for some amount of time then the circuit deactivates the output.
The charge pump signal from the UCCNC is the pulse train.

When you jumper it to simple output then you simply bypassing the charge pump circuit on the breakout board connecting the signal from the motion controller directly to the output optocoupler and transistor.
