2017 Screen set

Postby Makingtoothpicks » Fri Jan 12, 2018 1:44 am

I would like to change the background color in the G-Code window.
I find the red letters and white background to be hard on my eyes.
I think neutral grey or black. Or could the font color be change and
made a little larger.

Thank You
Don

You can change the font color on the Settings page. It's the Interpretable Codes color.

You can't change the font size.

The background color is part of the background image. You'd need to edit the background image to change the color.

Font size can be changed by using the "Edit Screen" mode. Click the "Edit Screen button" then hold "Shift" key and click on the "Run" tab. Once in the Run screen select the G-code window. The following box will open.

Click on the Font option. After changing the font size, click "File" tab and "Save". Then exit screen edit. Restart UCCNC and the new font size will be used. I found the default text colors and background too hard on the eyes. Attached is my modified g-code window.

Changing the font size will also change the height of the g-code window, so you then may need to change the message window below it.
And you'll need to edit the background to move the highlight band, if you want it to line up with the g-code.

So, yes, you can change the font size, but it has an effect on other things.

In the revised version that I'm working on, I made the font a bit larger.

Yes it will change the displayed g-code size which will extend beyond the window height size. That requires editing the codeview window image in the BMP folder which can be daunting. I use Paint.net which is a free program.

Would be nice and a whole allot easier if the screen editor allowed codeview height size adjustment. ;)

Is it possible to have different X and Y offsets for the corner finding macros? I made a corner finder then coated the interior with epoxy and manually milled the interior surfaces again (so it would be insulated from the aluminium workpieces) but as a result my X and Y offsets are not precisely the same.

Remachining to precisely the same X and Y offset isn't feasible - so I am hoping it's possible to set different X and Y offsets in the probing screen but it looks like there's only one option to have the same offset.

Any suggestions?

Cheers - N

You could hard code the offsets in the macros, but you'll have to do it for every one.
