Dezsoe - who are you ?

Postby beefy » Sun Dec 31, 2017 2:57 am

Hi Dezsoe,

all this time I've thought you were a Cncdrive customer like most of us here. I've just read a post by you where you talk about writing some of the UCCNC software.

So I take it you are one of the Cncdrive team :)

I did always think you seemed to be very knowledgeable

Hi Keith,

No and yes. :)

No, I think, you misread something. I never wrote that I made any part of UCCNC. (Could you please show that post?) As a happy customer, I had some ideas that came into UCCNC, but that's all. I have no access to the UCCNC source code, I do the same as you: ask Balázs if I need some info. However, in the setup package there are some pieces of my work: UCCNC_OSK.dll (On-Screen Keyboard) plugin and the Visual Basic plugin template and example. (The example is just the VB version of the C# example, OSK is also a calculator with many useful functions.)

Yes, I'm an outsider member of the team: I try to answer the software/programming side support questions to save time for Balázs. Also, I answer the mails on support at CNCdrive. I also do some special programming and/or testing for CNCdrive partners.

Cheers Deszoe,

This is the post:

After 1.2101 it's no more needed. The built-in backoff positioning is much faster. It worked fine since 1.2033 (that was the actual version when I wrote it), but now I deleted it from version 2101. It's time for it to retire...

Anyway my curiosity is satisfied :)

Cheers Keith, and Happy New Year! (It's 1am, 2018 here. :))

We were talking about the SmartHome macro with Gerry. That was what I wrote. :) The 2101 test release was just released and Gerry asked if the SmartHome is no more needed.

And a Happy New Year to you too Deszoe (and everyone else).

Not too happy today. I only had one single drink yesterday afternoon when I spoke with my brother overseas, and now have a splitting headache as though I had 10 drinks. May as well have had the 10
