copy from one screen to another

Can anyone help or give me a pointer, I want to copy a button from one screen to another. I have found the copy item button but not a paste button. Do i have to look and note all the attributes of the button i want to copy and then create new using those details.
Any help would be great.

Yes, much easier to just create a new button and copy the settings. The main settings are the button number, and whether it's a toggle button or not.
You'll also need the button image added to the screen.

The copy button actually copies and pastes in one operation, so it only works to make duplicate buttons in one screen.

You make a copy with the copy button, then the new object will be selected. Just change the layer number to put it on an other layer. (You have to check the needed layer number first.)

Yes, if you want to just put it on a different layer (or page), you simply change the layer number. When you go to that layer, it will then be there.

Sorry one last question on this, where can i change the start up screen from run to toolpath? if its possible.

Whatever screen you are currently on when you save the screen in the editor will become the startup screen.
