my old piece of scrap metal still runs and cuts as fast as it did when it was on 3 phase.
doing this cut- the whole machine- minus vac pumps is running at just over 900 watts including the spindle! (everything running from 220v single phase 13 amp plug)
its really nice for corners to stay crisp and square with no overshoot etc. thanks to uccnc keeping it all under control

I too have an older machine (1986 Thermwood)... I am wondering, did you have Mach3 running your CNC before?

If "yes"... in what ways has UCCNC improved the motion, usage, etc?

Thanks!

BTW- Your CNC moves quickly, seems smooth too. NICE!

no- i have other fast machines running mach3 but for accurate cabinet work you must use exact stop mode- which is nowhere near as good especially on hardwoods as it shows burn marks at near stop speeds.also otherwise at high speed corners over or under shoot badly.
uccnc has been amazing- never made a bad part that wasnt my fault-and its done hundreds of jobs and production runs. ( had the machine shown running 3 years now) i add bits when i get chance to make it better. must replace that noisy linear bearing on the y axis soon!
