It can run UCCNC, but it has the standard tablet problem: there is only one USB port, which is the power input too. Some tablets can be used with special OTG cables, which provide USB port and charger in the same time, but not all can do it. Running from batteries is not a good practice, I think. (See this thread where I wrote some thoughts and my experience about using and testing tablets with UCCNC.)

How do you intend to connect to the UC-100?

Note the bit above highlighted.

You are obviously free to do or try whatever you want but 8" would be a bit small for me (I had a 19" 4:3 monitor, and now use a 24" touchscreen with one of these: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/6LAAAOSw ... s-l300.jpg N3150 Dual Ethernet {with UC300eth + Neuron Plasma THC}, with wifi removed).

Wifi is not recommended for machine controlling applications (as the signal may be lost or affected by electrical noise). Would you drive your car on wifi / bluetooth?

He wants to use UC100, that's why I emphasized the USB problem. And yes, wifi is simply unuseable for the ETH controllers. I'm lucky to have a separate power input on my tablet, so I can use USB to ethernet converter or UC100. (In fact, I'm not lucky: I checked this before I bought my tablet. :))

I am looking at running a tablet if I can find one that will work. I do not intend to use Wi-fi.
I will connect using usb. So I can see most are limited in usb ports. I will keep checking specs
and see waht I can find. I also would like the largest screen I could get.

Thank you for the replies
