XHC-HB04 jogging

Postby Greolt » Tue Oct 17, 2017 5:54 am

I believe that CNCdrive wrote the plugin for the XHC-HB04

When I use it, jogging is disabled for both keyboard and flyout.

Can this behaviour be changed?

Want to be able to jog any way I want.

Yes, we wrote that plugin.
No, it's not possible to use more than one source the same time for jogging.
You can use the hotkey buttons and jog panel buttons and external inputs (that is one, the same source) or the MPG wheel (that is another source).
To select between the jogging source you can switch between the jog mode on the jog panel.

Thanks for that.

Indication on the HB04 as to what mode it is in is poor. Guess that is a limitation of the device itself.

Rob

The mode button does that. Cycles through four modes.

The indication on the LCD display as to what mode you are in is very poor.

It does show on the flyout panel. Maybe I need to edit my home screen to have those indications visible.

With regards to the LCD screen on the XHC-HB04, I think you're stuck then as you cannot edit the screen within the XHC-HB04 as its controlled via the internal firmware

so an onscreen (UCCNC screen on PC) text field to display some text via a macroloop is probably your best bet.

Or a coloured LED with a label next to it etc

Rob is right. The XHC pendant gives a very limited way of changing things on the LCD screen via USB communication.
The format of things on the screen are fully fixed, so unfortunately we can't change how and where the texts appear.

Assuming you mean that you added these to the UCCNC screen. Is that correct?

There are already relevant labeled buttons with two state indication on the flyout screen. Button numbers, 161, 162, 226, 227 and 228

Was thinking I might just add these to the home screen. Although they are a bit large

Sorry, I had not realised LEDs were available.

When you edit the screen you can change the size of the LEDs displayed and also change the image that is displayed.

What you also could do is add say add 5 new leds each with a different colour, and a transparent image, then you setup the images in the screen editor to show the colours in the button down state, and the transparent image in the button up state, then you overlay the LEDs on the screen and assign the image numbers.

Yup can also create a split button image with 1/2 oh an image and 1/2 transparent and then change the image type to I think it's toggle and it will flip between the two.

I am presently using the freeware image software GIMP2 and find it easier to use than Adobe illustrator and Photoshop.
