UC400ETH CNC Controller

Hi,

I seem to have satisfactorily installed the UC400ETH to run my CNC over ethernet, but I'm a bit puzzled about this :?

From time to time, usually after my Windows PC 'wakes up' and I run UCCNC, I get a prompt asking which controller (of about 6 options) to use (it's a screen similar to the Demo Mode screen) even though I have only one controller. The two controllers at the top of the list are the same and clicking either of them will open UCCNC, ready to use.

When I run the UCxxx utility program, this is what I see, and is probably why I get the controller listed twice:

The only thing I can do is reboot my PC, after which I run the utility again and the controller is shown only once, and I'm not prompted for the controller type.

Interestingly, the scanned IP address is different to the actual IP address, which I find puzzling, to say the least.

Does anyone know what's happening here, please?

Thank you.

My suggestion would be to disable sleep mode on your PC.

It is likely because you connecting the controller via network router(s) and/or switch(es).
Then it is possible that there are more then one routes between the computer and the UC400ETH, if this is the case then more then one device will show up with the same IP address.
Are you sure you did not change the IP on the screen without saving the IP?

I have a hub in my workshed which is hard-wired to the wired network in my house, so Yes, I'm using a switch. The laptop (for internet access) and the UC400ETH are plugged into that, so I don't see multiple routes being possible? If this were the case, why does a reboot 'clear' the problem?

When I Test Connection I get a positive report (even when two are showing):

Should I change to the correct IP Address and save the settings?

Thanks

The scanned IP address can be different but in range with the network mask because you have the DHCP enabled, then the computer assigns the IP address to the UC400ETH based on the set IP and the network mask.
