AXBB NO Limit Switches

Postby dougie8 » Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:10 am

Hi All,

I have the new AXBB board which I am really impressed with, I am however having some difficulty wiring up the limit switches to the board?

The limit switches I have are similar to the following:
https://m.dhgate.com/product/wholesale- ... 23383.html

Previously I had NCStudio and these were wired to the +5v, -5v, and the third wire was the signal wire.

I had wired these similar on the AXBB board with the two 5v wires connected to the 5v output port and the third wire wired to one negative connection on Port 2 with a link wire connected from the +5v into the + side on port 2.

There are 3x limit switches in total one for each axis, I managed to get X & Y working ok however I'm struggling on the Z axis all 3x limit switches are wired and the settings are identical.

Can some advise first if I have these wired correctly, if I have can you advise why the Z axis keeps going into reset?

Kind regards

Try wiring them as the manual shows, using 24V.

Hi thanks for the reply, that is how the limit switches are wired only I was using the 5v power out instead would that make a difference using the 24v?

The limit switches were previously wired using 5v hence why I went down this route. If this is the reason they are not working i can switch over just wondering what the difference would be from the 5v to the 24v other than more power?

thanks again.

I'll defer to the manual, where ALL examples of sensors and switches say to use 24V.

The isolated inputs on the AXBB-E are designed to work reliably with 12V to 24V voltage range.
