Same UB1 board appearing twice in controllers list

Postby ronenbu » Wed Oct 24, 2018 5:45 am

Hi, I have the UB1 board attached via a cross direct network cable to the host PC, with the license installed and configured via the network utility. When scanning using the utility the controller appears twice in the list - same IP address and same license ID... When starting UCCNC, the same thing happens and the controller appears twice first item in the list of devices, which blocks UCCNC to automatically detect it and start the program without offering the selection of devices. once one of the instances is selected, the application continues just fine and I can communicate with the controller perfectly. I know there is a command line parameter to force UCCCNC to start with a specific device ID, but haven't used it yet and don't know if will work in this case. One thing to mention, is that the PC has a wireless network card as well and both adapters (wifi and ethernet) are enabled (each has different IP address though). I've tried re-installing everything from scratch (even Win10 cleanly) and the same thing happens..

Any idea how to resolve?

Thanks

Ronen

The same device appears more times if it is accessible via more than one ethernet adapters or in other words on more than one route.
We could filter the devices out to show only one, but the problem with that is that then you would not have the option to select the device via a different network adapter and it is not sure that you want to use the first adapter in the list.
The only good solution for this problem is to disable the second access route to the device. Disable the one you don't want to use. Possibly the Wifi one in your case, because wifi is adviced not to be used, because it can have latency problems. You could disable it e.g. in the router's routing table.
