stop button with step/direction spindle

Postby Battwell » Thu Sep 27, 2018 11:19 am

i have my spindle set step/direction. (it runs in position mode)
it doesnt follow deceleration time if stop button is pressed - only does this with m5 or spindle m3 toggle button
stop- isnt an emergency situation like estop (reset) in uccnc? so should it decellerate over the time set?
1.2016 version. but same in stable version

I've just tested this with a UC400ETH.
What I did is the following:
- M3 spindle on with M3 button. ... Pressed STOP button. The step deccelerates fine. (Tested this when there was motion meanwhile and also when there was no motion meanwhile the stop happened.)
- M3 spindle button on toggle --- M3 spindle button off toggle. The step deccelerates fine.
- M3 spindle button on toggle --- M5 in g-code. The step deccelerates fine.

So, I do not see the issue at all.
Please explain the problem a bit more detailed about what and how you doing things.

i will send you profile by direct email
im using uc300eth (would this be different to uc400?)

using spindle on off button it decelerates fine
using m5 decelerates fine
if it sees m1 end of code run or stop button it doesnt seem to decelerate (spindle may be at 3500 rpm with a heavy tool and cannot stop dead so will error out the drive)
i will try to confirm this on diagnostic screen first.

I think we figured it out meanwhile that you doing G33 syn threading when you doing the stop with the stop button. This information was missing, so please confirm that you doing that?
And yes when the G33 is stopped then it stops instant, there is a reason for that. I'm not sure if and how to change that, but my collegue will think it through.
And also there is one issue which we found meanwhile is that the M30 also stops the step/dir spindle without decceleration, I've just fixed that one.

if threading and hitting stop- id expect it to stop.
the m30, etc still needs to decelerate.
i have been running the machine a fair bit this week (not threading just running 3d toolpaths etc) and these faults show up.

OK, I see. So you running normal g-code without G33 and hitting the Stop button and then the step dir spindle stops without deccel? We could not reproduce that unfortunately.
What we found though while checking out the issue is that the M30 stops the step/dir spindle without decceleration which I have now fixed.
