Inch Settings

Postby musgrave » Tue May 29, 2018 1:46 am

I am trying to get a C22M1 modbus mpg interface card to work with UCCNC and I have been told by the vendor I have to change some settings in UCCNC General Configuration from MM to Inches but I do not see anywhere to make the change from MM to Inches, could someone point me in the right direction on this? Thanks

I think the vendor misunderstood you. There's no switch in UCCNC between mms and inches. You have to set all your parameters in inches if you need an imperial setup. The C22M1 works only in metric mode, as the vendor writes here.

The C22M1 plugin now has inch or metric selection. Jogging with the mpg is very erratic and ends up with the selected axis going into a unstoppable runaway mode.
What parameters in UCCNC do I have to set into inches for Imperial setup?
I have imported all settings from Mach3 and all axis travel are in inch except when I try to jog with the mpg

If your movements are the correct length then your setup is OK. The difference between metric and imperial settings is in the axes setup: steps/units etc. If the MPG doesn't move the required length then it's (I think) a problem of the MPG. Could you upload your profile (.pro) file?

It really works strange. Data from the device arrives to Modbus plugin, only the speed parameter seems to be a bit coarse. IMHO the problem is somewhere in the C22M1 plugin, because the input data is not turned corretly into movements.

Just to let everyone know the C22M1 is not fully developed and operational at this time, problems with correct length of motion and lack of resolution selection, the vendor says he is working on it but was not able to get the plugin to work properly, have not heard from him in some time now.

Musgrave,

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope the vendor can resolve their issues.
In the meantime if you need a pendant urgently then you may take a look at our new UCR201 wireless pendant: http://cncdrive.com/UCR201.html
