wiring 2 wire nc proximity sensor

I've tried to wire 2 wire nc proximity sensor in series with 24+ and the 24v0 directly to the input- and the light on the sensor turns off and on as it should but the light on the board not turning off like the switch close always anyone had success wiring this sensor?
