If you think you've found a bug post it here.

When I move the spindle with the pendant and then wait until the pendant screen goes black and interrupt it with any button, the spindle rapidly moves a few inches. This is completely repeatable and you just need to time the waking up of the pendant correctly. Just after the screen goes black. You also need to move the spindle initially. Occurs in both velocity and step mode.

I have tried UCCNC 1.2113, 1.2115, 1.2117 and all contain the bug.

I see several references to this bug on this forum including a video demostrating it. Is there any known fix or work-around?

The bug is obviously annoying as it is difficult to avoid and will damage the workpiece and/or break the end mill.

You are absolutely right.
Today I was vacuum cleaning the table and I noticed the Y axis moved forward, then backward a couple of millimeters. I thought that's not that bad, it must be the usual pendant bug. Then OMFG, somehow UCCNC received a cycle start!
This was scary as hell because the spindle turned on and the machine moved toward me at full speed! :o
How can this be possible?
I'll probably test the 1.2118 next, but right now I think the pendant is a safety hazard.

1.2118 contains several bug fixes for the UCR201, you can try to install 1.2118 and copy the plugin file to your existing UCCNC installation.

It received a Cycle start, well never heard about that.
What we fixed are issues when the pendant went to sleep and the wheel was rotated and coming back from sleep caused an issue.
Also we fixed a problem when it could not connect on startup, this only happened to a few users.
We also fixed an issue when removing the battery made the pendant to loose the RF tuning value from memory.
My collegue also made the communication error checking more robust, but this was only because we first thought that the mentioned sleep movements happens due to errorous packets, when we realised it was not the cause he already changed the communication prototol to even more secured.

Gents, have had this issue for years. Has cost me two probes, work/stock and some underwear changes. Also posted here:

I have updated to V1.2118 but still getting the random uncommanded Z axis movements : (
I'm going to retire the UCR201 in favour of the wired MPG next order. Just too much hassle/risk/cost.

Verify that you using the proper channel USA or Europe according to the region you are located in, otherwise in the USA using Europe region can cause problems, because then the pendant will operate in the RF channel of the taxis.
The situation is similarly problematic if you using USA channel for EU.
