RS485 for VFD controla and Mach 3

Postby gills » Wed May 22, 2024 11:53 pm

Hey guys, I am setting my first cnc mill and I am using just two axis X and Z. I didn't really want to invest in another AXBB-E controller, but I have an older DB25 basic BOB and a UC100 not being used. I can control everything through my BOB except for the VFD spindle. I have been researching the USB RS485 and feel confident on the install and files. My question is, once it is installed and up and running and I load a cut program into Mach 3, will Mach automatically turn the spindle on like it normally does with my AXBB-E or do I have to manually turn it on and off through the Mach 3 screen? I appreciate any experienced opinions out there.

With Mach3, you'd need to use Modbus to control the VFD with RS-485. When set up correctly, yes, it will turn it on and off with M3 and M5 g-codes.

Il y a une tonne d'informations sur le Web si vous effectuez une recherche.
