mach3 AXBB-E spindle ASDA-B2

Postby karczmarzdesign » Wed Jan 24, 2024 7:03 pm

Hello, I have a little problem with switching from the old LPT electronic board to the axbbe controller.

The spindle is a servo drive from the ASDA-B2 400W series
It is controlled by the M3/M4 command - it works on the old machine and runs Mach2 software. (guided by step and direction)

Unfortunately, I do not have documentation of the planar circuits.

How to connect such a servo drive as a spindle to the axbbe board?

I am attaching sample photos of the documentation I found.

Could someone help me and draw a very simple drawing of how to connect it.

You can connect it exactly how it is on the drawings, but you can use the isolated outputs of the AXBB-E for this, because that can work with 24Volts.

Thank you for your answer. Please make me a simple diagram of how to connect it. I don't understand where to connect minus 24v from the power supply.

It's not minus 24 Volts, but it is the 0Volts of the 24Volts power supply which is usually marked with a minus sign.
So, you have +24Volts (plus sign on your drawing) and 0Volts (minus sign on your drawing).
The +24Volts you get from the AXBB-E and connect it to PULL_HI.
And you connect one isolated output of the AXBB-E to the /PULSE input of the drive and another isolated output of the AXBB-E to the /SIGN input of the drive.

The 0Volts you don't have to connect to the drive.
