broken pin

Postby Boob843 » Tue Feb 11, 2020 10:37 pm

started getting more than a few "check connection errors" & "check connection and restart mach 3 errors" do you think this ground pin is a problem. controller cabinet
is separated from machine vibrations. posted some photos of the uc100 and the gender changer. always stops in the middle of a job

If it is a GND pin should be no problem, because all the 18 to 25 pins are the same ground pins, so the ground connection should be still fine.
Communication error is usually due to noise problems.

You can try to place a thick (possibly >=0.5mm^2) and as short as possible single wire between the PC chassis (GND) and the UC100 GND (e.g. one of the 2 screws on the side of the UC100).
That would make a lower impedance ground connection which usually elliminates the differential noise which causing the communication issues.

thanks for that bit of info, i am going to do that any noise reduction helps.
