Hi Eric,

Please try this test plugin, it should have this issue fixed: http://www.polgardidesign.hu/download/U ... V1_020.m3p

Hi Balazs, Thanks for the test plugin!

It was a definite improvement but wasn't quite 100% fix.

Quick summary:
-X probing good! (I don't test Y, but assume same behavior)
-Z probing faultered ~50% of time, but no longer crashed through part out of control. If it went bad, it would overtravel at end, stop and retract (see last video below)
-Plugin some how affected jog speed using XBox 360 control, made it crawl excessively slowly (with old Lee Davis Mach Plugin). Not sure why, but reverting to V1.015 plugin fixed jog again.

Probing in X direction and trying several times seemed like a solid fix. No real issue noted, and it came to a controlled stop w/ <.001" clearance:

The Z axis no longer rammed through the part without stopping, so that is fixed, however for triggering w/ small gap successfully, probing in Z direction was about 50% success. Sometimes it would stop perfectly in controlled fashion w/ gap < .001":

Other times, it would end with an overtravel of ~.035" to .040" (including record a trigger value of -.035" to .040"), but then it would stop traveling and retract to z=0. A little odd behavior.

Best regards,
Eric Brust

Just an update, I'll retract the statement about issues with the z axis probing, I believe it is FIXED :). I played/tested some more by upping the plugin speed to 400 khz (not sure that should matter) and played with delay timing in reading the 'hit' variables from completing the G31 in macros, and now it is running really solid and reliable for probing in all axes. Hasn't over-traveled in any additional testing I've done.

There is still some sort of issue with jogging that has appeared, only affecting jogging commanded by an XBox plugin, keyboard jogging via keys is fine. Max velocity I can get with the xbox controller is very slow (<10 ipm max). But for now, this plugin is workable.

Here is trial example of Mach3 version of surface routine chugging along without faltering anymore. Just have to optimize the 'delays' to make it run as fast as possible while being reliable:

Thanks again for fixing the plugin up! Will be glad to test any additional changes/fixes you may have :)
