AC Servo For Spindle

Postby trkmml » Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:20 pm

Hello, I have the servo driver and Mach3 board that I have attached. I would like to use a 1.5 kW AC servo as the spindle motor. I have also attached the manual file of the driver. What settings should I configure on the driver? Additionally, which terminals from the driver should be connected to which connectors on the Mach3 board? Thank you very much for your help.

This fourm is about our company products (cncdrive.com) and this controller is not ours, it is a Chinese one.
Due to the fact that the motion controller has +5V as common I think it is likely to have NPN transistor outputs.
Then you could connect the +5V to the Puls+ and Dir+ input of the drive and connect one axis step/dir signals to them, e.g. the CD- and CP-.
Ofcourse I'm assuming that your motion controller supports free configuration of signals to pins (our motion controllers work like that).
However if the pins are fixed to the functions in your motion controller then it will not work with your step/dir servo spindle, then you will have to get a different motion controller, e.g. our AXBB-E motion controller + breakout board can work like that:
