A card is better than uc100 on mach3

Postby erdem55 » Sat Dec 28, 2024 3:00 pm

Hi Guys,
I used mach3 lathe with uc100 for 2 year, but ı have some problems that threading, use cable is affected inverter noise .
UC100 has 1 pulse index signal for per turn on mach3 .Which one better than uc100 card? I want to use encoder spindle speed for threading.
Good days

All of our ethernet motion controllers can do threading using incremental encoder feedback (A, B and Index channels) except the UC100.
The UC100 can do threading only with using the Index channel.

Mach3 does not support encoder threading.

ok, I understanded to not be threading with mach3,
Allright, how is uccnc program?
Someone say me that uccnc turn is not good, it was generally making problem with arc motion
is it true?

Our ethernet motion controllers can do threading with Mach3, however there are bugs in the Mach3 threading which we found unrepairable in plugins as it is in the core of Mach3.
The issue is that very low speed thread cutting is not working properly, sometimes Mach3 is pulling out the tool in the wrong angle.
However with proper (still reasonable speed for thread cuttings in most cases) it works fine.

With UCCNC the thread cutting was implemented many years ago and it works totally fine without bugs.
I don't know what do you mean by "proeblems with arc motion"?

Your friends are wrong there is no problem with that. Driving dual (master-slave) axis works fine with UCCNC and it works the same with arcs as with linear movements.
