Summed DRO for Manual axis

Hi - I’m retrofitting a bed mill that has a quill and I’m wondering if it is possible to have my quill encoder sun to my z axis DRO so that if I choose to manually drill holes, I am not losing my zero datum. It’s not a deal breaker, but centroid has this feature and I’m trying to figure out if it could be replicated in UCCNC.

You could configure an AUX encoder in the UCCNC and then you could write a macro which would read the encoder and updates the Z axis position DRO for example on a button stop or you could write a macroloop which would read the encoder DRO continously and could update the Z axis DRO automatically if the encoder value changes.
