Thumbs up to Safe-Z in machine coordinates.

The other options you mentioned would be nice too.

It should always be in Machine Coordinates, and you should have the option to turn it off for any built in function that uses it.
A Checkbox for On/Off and a Field with the height should make it easy to access.
