UC100 Issue (Code 10)

Postby Yaret » Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:56 am

Hello,

I have an issue with the UC100 controller on my Stepcraft machine running Windows 10. The machine is about 1.5 years old, and there have been connection stability problems with the controller from the beginning. Occasionally, it would stop connecting to the computer, and I had to reinstall the drivers. Unfortunately, now it has completely stopped connecting.

When I try to update the drivers in Device Manager, the driver appears but with an exclamation mark and the message: *"This device cannot start. (Code 10). A request for the USB device descriptor failed."*

I have tried using three different computers, multiple cables, and various driver versions. The same problem occurs on all of them, and I cannot run UCCNC.

Could the controller be damaged? What happens with the license if I buy a new controller?

The USB chip of the UC100 damaged.
We can send you a free new license if you will purchase a new motion controller.

Thank you for your response.
However, I’m wondering if purchasing the UC400ETH controller might be a better solution, as I’ve been having constant connection issues with the UC100.
In that case, would I need to purchase an entirely new license for UCCNC?
What would be the shipping cost to Poland?
BR.

We can send you a new license key file for free of charge if your old motion controller damaged.
Ethernet is better than USB in terms of noise rejection, immunity from EMI noise.

Shipping cost is 14 EUR excluding VAT with GLS express to Poland.
VAT is 0% if you are EU VAT registered and 23% for Poland if you are not.

Thank you. That's great news :) Should I send this damaged UC100 back to you? Its serial number is 907C2C.
How can I order the UC400ETH? Should I use your webshop or email? Is there anything specific I should add to the order? I am not an EU VAT payer.
I have Stepcraft M.1000 and UCCNC 1.2111 with Stepcraft installer v3.5.
