AXBB-E

Postby survtech » Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:25 am

I purchased an AXBB-E from Maker Store in Australia July 2022. It died after a few months and was replaced under warranty.

Last week the replacement died. Maker Store tell me faulty units are a throw-away.

They used to recommend the AXBB-E as their premium controller but are now pushing another product, I'm not surprised the best part of AUD700 down the toilet.

I have same problem. Do you know why the problem occured with your board? How fast you got replacement and how long warranty is valid?

When mine "died," it stopped communicating altogether—no connection to the PC, and the LEDs weren’t lighting up as expected. Maker Store was quick to respond the first time and had a replacement to me in under two weeks. But this second failure has been a headache.

As far as I know, the warranty on the replacement was tied to the original purchase date, which didn’t leave much room when it failed again. Did you notice any unusual behaviour before yours stopped working?

If a device like the AXBB-E fails is mostly due to a 5V powersupply failure which is an external device or somekind of electrical overload, e.g. Electrostatic discharge, lightning etc. or an overvoltage somewhere on the non isolated part, e.g. on the step/dir lines or via the extension port#3
However fortunately these failures are rare.
My advice is to check and possibly replace your 5V powersupply if a failure happened 2 times in a row at you, because it must have a reason.

Warranty is 12 months from purchase date. And we send a free replacement UCCNC license key if the original device had a license key attached.
