UCR201 F buttons

Postby George M » Fri Nov 10, 2023 7:16 pm

I just received an UCR201 to replace a different pendant that quit working.
I use Ger 2022 screenset

I'm trying to program the F1 button and F2 button to use the Calibrate Tool Setter (20522) and Z Auto Zero (20523) on the 2022 screenset, but when I restart and try either one, it stops with an error of:
plate thickness <0

I have, and have had for years, the plate thickness set in the probe/settings screen as well as the position of the reference plate

I might also add that I just installed v 1.2116 over 1.2115 and verified that those settings are still there. Also the Calibrate Tool Setter and Z Auto Zero work correctly from the screenset itself, just not through the UCR201
Thank you

Those button numbers call macros from my 2017 screenset. If you are using the 2022 screenset, those macros will not work. The correct button numbers are 10671 and 10672.

The correct button numbers are 10671 and 10672.

If those numbers do not work, I may need to send you an updated plugin. But I won't be able to until Monday. Let me know.

That's what I thought when I first set it up because I went into the screen editor and those are the numbers I found. But when I use them nothing happens - with either one. That's when I went to the documentation but must have open the one from 2017 instead of 2022.

Anyway I just re tried it again with 10671 and 10672 and nothing.

Do I have to reinstall the 2022 screenset??
Thank you

Gerry, I remember a case when you checked the onscreen parameter in the buttonpress_event and it prevented executing callbutton calls. I think this is the same problem, because the UCR201 plugin uses callbutton on the F keys. Maybe, the OP needs only an updated 2022 plugin?

Yes, I believe that is the case, and I mentioned that above.

I replaced the dll with the one you sent me.
However now when I initiate F1 (10672) or F2 (10671), my pendent shows "not connected to software" and freezes up UCCNC.
Until I pressed the F buttons, the pendent was working properly.

@dezsoe
Do you have any idea what would cause this?
