Good morning every one

I wanted to ask for help as I already done some upgrades on my machine with X and Z axis and I had g-penny 2.2 KW spindle with Huan Yang VFD laying around so I decided to switch from my 1.5KW + sunfar C300 to HY VFD +2.2KW and here is my question

how to connect hy vfd to uc300eth + UCBB

here on HY VFD there are two lines of terminal 1 and 2 which ACM should I use form 1 or from 2 ?


is this correct connection ?
uc300eth + UCBB
analog port UCBB pin 5 ground ------> HY VFD ACM ( terminal 2 or terminal 1 ? )
analog port UCBB pin 6 analog output 0 ------> HY VFD VI ( terminal 2 ? )

uc300eth CN2 output O17 ------> HY VFD FOR ( terminal 1 from photo )


HY VFD setting that i hanged to be able to control speed :

JP1 pin set to VI


PD001 set to 1
PD002 set to 1
PD070 set to 0

is there any thing that I miss out here in vfd configuration and wiring it to uc300eth + UCBB ?

Few days ago I send email to UCCNC support but still didnt get any answer from them again .

is this correct connection ?

The UCBB has no analog I/O, and can not control the RPM.
You either need to use the analog port on the UC300, or get a breakout board with analog speed control.
Personally, I found it much easier to use Dan911's HY plugin with a $10 USB > RS485 converter.

Both ACM's on the VFD should be connected together internally. You can check with a multimeter.

sorry i made mistake when posting connection of corse UC300 has an analog port

after posting that i was looking for a sollution and i found on one forum that someone had a problem that when it was connected to AXBB-E same way he wasn't able to control RPM so he connected ground to DCM

sollution for AXBB-E
A01 = VI
ACM = 5V0
DCM = 24V0 ( I just don't understund why [b]24V0 and not the same from 5V0 as common - is alsways same on PCB ) [/b]
FOR = pin 7 port 1
REV = pin 8 port 1

pid001 on vfd = 1
pid002 on vfd = 1




I done the same just shorted ACM and DCM and now it is working. Now it is just need a small adjustment with pd159 and pd160 need to be set to 0 I assume as UC300 gives only 9.85 V from analog port so it is a small deviation in RPM, even changing signal on vfd to 5V (pd070 if i remember to change signal voltage on VFD as well ) and setting it in uccnc to 51% it sligthy better let say S12000 it will speed up to 12048 but still not super accurate .
I will play with thise setting probably today as I have still some wiring to correct after "made in china"

So here is a correct I think way to connect HY VFD to UC300 and UCBB at least it work's for me

I just dont know why on few tutorials especialy with mach3 people are connecting 10 V or 24 V + to that vfd can any one explain me that ?

What I did, was to set the VFD for 0-5V operation, and set the PWM max to 50%. This gives you 5V at full RPM, instead of the 9.85V when the VFD wants 10V. But in the end, I found the VFD was not consistent with analog RPM, and swithed to the plugin with Modbus for RPM.

Yes I made that change to 5V jsut to see it's a bitt better but still not super accurate liek S12000 it goes 12048 Right now I am correcting all other connections and conectors ar control box so when I will finish I will play around with pd159 and pd160 and try again witn 0-10V

Just in case, can you send me a link to this modbus ? but this will give an extra connection prof pc to vfd and probably it is not opto isolated isnt it ?

I just purchased and setup the AXBB-E ... Amazing (that's from someone who had an NVEM prior (terrible)).
Anyway, my understanding is that the pins being used for (FOR pin 7 port 1, and REV pin 8 port 1) these are isolated outputs (certainly are on the AXBB-E)
and so are putting out +24v and that's why DCM needs to be 24v0 to complete it.
the vfd VI is hooked upto AO1 which outputs either 5v or 10v and so on mine the ACM is then hooked upto the 5v0 to complete that.
