AXBB-E: Connecting and MPG Hand Wheel

Postby thesleepydog » Thu Jan 09, 2020 9:41 pm

Does the MPG Handwheel need to be 24VDC or can other voltage Handwheels be connected? The diagram in the AXBB-E is pictured with the MPG connecting to 24V.

I have a 5V hand wheel. Can someone please confirm if I can connect the MPG to a 5V supply voltage? Connect the MPG VCC ( +5VDC ) terminal to the two AXBB-E isolated input positive terminals and the MPG A/B Wires to the respective Isolated Inputs negative terminals, would this work?

Really what I am asking is can I use a 5V DC supply on some of the isolated inputs and instead of the 24V DC pictured and still use 24V for other Isolated Inputs (i.e. NPN connections)?

Yes, this should work. All inputs on port #2 are separated, so you can use 2 of them with 5V and the others with 24V.
