MODBUSEZ Plugin

Postby Dan911 » Wed Mar 15, 2017 11:27 pm

Hello Everyone,

If you have the typical China Spindle 24000rpm/400hz and a Modbus Standard VFD you my find interest with this plugin, with a $5.00 RS485 converter you can be up and running in minuets with UCCNC controlling your spindle. UCCNC provides a great Modbus plugin, but some macro writing knowledge is needed and the MODBUSEZ plugin will eliminates that and you can learn while you use.

I provide set up instructions for the commonly used VFD's and may add if requested, below is the set up for Hitachi VFD, you can check link for other available configurations and to download plugin.

Hello All,

Since this plugin was built from same platform as the HYPLUGIN unfortunately bugs within that plugin followed before fixed. Regardless if any using this plugin I couldn't leave it with knowing there are problems within. Since I took the time to fix any known bugs I went ahead and updated features since it was a simple copy/paste from the HYPLUGIN. New features listed below.

ModbusEZ5:

1. When changing through UCCNC interface screens quickly could cause it to lockup....Fixed

2. Added any spindle/motor can be configured to use this plugin.

3. Implemented use of the UCCNC pulley system.

4. Added register to read amps and could be used to monitor load on spindle while cutting.

5. Added Rpm only for users that use other hardware to turn spindle on/off.

6. Removed Polling speed since all commands sent are instant and don't rely on speed of polling.

ModbusEZ5 can be downloaded follow link to post #43

Some of the settings supplied in manual were confirmed not working with the working settings. I will eventually get around to updating manual. I also updated the plugin to ModbusEZ14 with fixed issues.

You can read about it and download to try from link below.

im trying to work out parameters required from a badly written chinese manual for ecogoo 9100 vfd. i have it reading and writing using the uccnc modbus- but cant for the life of me work out how to set the run hz and start/stop command!
the seller has been useless in replies so far. even though the inverter seems really well made and designed- its manual is poor- on modbus side.
anyone want to look at the manual and see if you can see what im missing? i have it here in pdf. i had to ask for this as the manual is a few badly photo copied sheets sent with the vfd.

Interesting that it uses 40000 as 400 hz ( read out by modbus) so obviously using the 2 decimal places too

Seems like your making progress! How were you able to determine that via Modbus? I wasn't able to find anything pertaining to modbus or registers. That manual is worse than the HuanYang.

ha- thats what i told the seller!
the parameter numbers are decimal 0.00 is 0 next is 1 and so on
i only found this out as he sent an xls showing the baud setting - and it had 193 next to it.
i have pencil numbered the parameter numbers into my book for now!

so- i can read and write to most of the parameters- but still cannot fathom which ones to set for frequency and fwd/stop
reading the 400hz back into uccnc shows 40000
some things like current appear to be a %age of maximum
the inverter itself is cheaper and better made than the hy vfds- so i think a lot of people are going to buy them!
i told him- if he helps me get it going il write additional notes for 485 he can add to the manual.

I assumed this since it shows which parameter functions are read/write.

The HY worked this way also, you are able to read each parameter with a standard Modbus read function.

example:

HY function PD142
142 = 8e hex.... so reading address 8e with Modbus would give you its value. To write to these functions is where HY strayed from Modbus and hopefully Ecogoo didn't do the same.

The Ecogoo 9100 manal has several different group functions and how to address that group is impossible for me to determine without a ecogoo VFD. Looking at the Ecogoo 9600 model manual from there site it gives a communication group and shows set frequency, on/off, forward, reverse. It could possibly work for your model.
