Yes, you need to do angle function calculation to get the tool radius offset if there is a combined XY probing.
Yes, the controller has to tell you the movement direction when the touch happened if the movement is an arc so then you can calculate the offset using angle function or the controller has to do the calculation for you. :)

I also see some complications about probing parts like on the video is that you need to know the part shape approximately to do the probing with somekind of strategy.

Thanks Balazs,

Do you have any input on if there are future plans to enable combined XY probing (straight G31 linear) in UCCNC?

regards,
Eric Brust

I am interested in this option , something like probing alignment , will be great neaxt think in uccnc .
Wish u the best .

Bump, still curious if G31 in multiple axes is under consideration for a future release?

Thanks Balazs,
Eric

Just wondering what makes this feature difficult to implement?

+1 for G31 XY interpolated linear probing

So are you saying that IF you apply the probe tip radius to the probe setup in UCCNC that it does not auto appy that offset to the trip values ????

Please don't knock probing with an arc until you have tried it (;-) It can be a wonderful thing probing profiles as each probe command searches a 360 deg area in 1 call. No search for next point code method needed. I will leave you with that thought.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Would be awesome to have G31 multiple axis.
You can probe half of the circle, for example.
Please...

Thanks for the suggestion.
The probing on more then one axis one time is already planned in our next development cycle.
We just finished the current cycle of development and the result is the version 1.2022 which got out to our website a few days ago.
We now waiting for users feedbacks about this new version for about 2 weeks to see if there are any bugs reported and then will start the new development cycle.
So, you can expect this function to be implemented soon.

Any news her ?
This might be the key to probing routines for Fusion :)

Hey, is this stil on the plan ??
