safety halt suggestions

Postby Battwell » Sun Jan 29, 2023 12:00 pm

with g code running im looking for suggestions for the following.

someone steps on safety mat/ breaks safety light beam- so the machine must stop.
wanting to stop or feedhold the running code
raise the spindle head from the work
either stop spindle or leave running but with spindle guard (brush) still down.

cannot use feedhold as it is as macro movement code wont run
stop kills code, turns off brush output (m8) and stops the macro.

i need to be able to make 1 button press to resume (take z back to the halt position and resume running the code)

suggestions?

ok i have done it :-)

this one was a battle to work out .
it uses 3 seperate macro loops to control it. each enabled as the seperate macroloops take their turns running in order controlled by leds switched by each seperate macroloop..
the first button, halt test button which will be the detected person signal (run as a macroloop so it works while running code) just sets the first control leds.
the second macroloop watches for these leds to be set to run. it then issues a feed hold and then captures the hold position. then stops the system .
the 3rd macroloop then raises the head to a safe position and again puts the system into stop again . (hence being able to now jog the machine around)
the button (halt resume) will be on a post outside the safety zone. this re starts the spindle and lowers the dust brush. moves to its original x y position, then lowers the z axis to the job before calling cycle start to resume the code .
my brain is melted :-)
